Hanukkah is our reminder that a little light goes a long way! This week, on Thursday evening, my favorite Jewish holiday starts: Hanukkah ✨🕯️ This video was taken last year at the final evening of Hanukkah at the Western Wall, when all lights were lit and it was such a joyous, beautiful evening. This year, although the celebrations here in Israel will look very different, I believe it’s more important than ever to light the candles every evening and celebrate this light. Over 2200 years ago, against all odds a tiny group of Jews in Israel stayed faithful and standvast in their Jewishness while most of the nation didn’t and they miraculously defeated the oh so powerful Greek army, threw them and their traditions out of Israel and rededicated the Holy Temple in Jerusalem. They didn’t have enough oil for the Temple’s menorah to last a week (until new oil could be made), but miraculously one day’s portion of oil lasted an entire week.
