A new Tampa Heights bookstore is filling in the gap with Black literature šŸ“š Florida city council member Gwen Henderson recently opened the Black English Book Store to help expand the types of books that are available to members of her community. Henderson, who is also a high school teacher, used her passion for educating and empowering others to create a space where books of all kinds can live on her shelves without the fear of being banned. The entrepreneur also revealed that the store’s name was inspired by James Baldwin’s essay: ā€˜If Black English isn’t a language, then tell me what is.’ Tap the link in bio for the full story. // #BlackLiterature
