Day 130 and the runs I find the hardest are the ones I'm doing for kiddos that have lost their lives to cancer😭. Today's 13.1 miles was for Gavin Kilcullen who started his cancer journey at age 10😞. This is what his aunt wrote me: Gavin Kilcullen-10 yrs old- April 2016 Diagnosed-Acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) B-Cell, chemo not working, had to get bone marrow transplant NOV 2016. Complications from BMT eventually put Gavin into kidney failure, requiring dialysis 3x/week. Went into cardiac arrest in June 2017, had way too many complications through his 4.5ywats of fighting to list, and so many surgeries to name but made the BEST of every good day there was. Sadly my nephew was diagnosed (09/22/20) with a secondary cancer - Glioblastoma Multiforme stage 4 (caused by the high doses of radiation needed to get life saving bone marrow transplant). We lost Gavin October 10,2020 at the age of 15 years old. Why am I sharing this? Because often we take our lives for granted and complain...
