Ice cream cone or rocket part? 🍦⁣ ⁣ NASAMarshall teams recently installed a key component called the frangible joint assembly onto the adapter that connects the core stage to the upper part of the Space Launch System (SLS) rocket. ⁣ ⁣ The cone-shaped stage adapter will be a part of the SLS mega rocket that will power NASA’s #Artemis III mission to the Moon. The Artemis III mission will include a crewed landing on the lunar surface.⁣ ⁣ The frangible joint sits atop the adapter and operates as a separation mechanism.
