Research for a senior thesis on the environmental history of Glacier National Park is best done, where else, but in Glacier National Park. With a Jewell Journey Grant, history and secondary education major Ian Burch trekked to Montana’s wilderness where he documented the park’s dwindling number of glaciers, met with park rangers and visited the archives. Ian, a Lee’s Summit native and member of Jewell’s Kappa Alpha Order and the Cardinal football team, graduates in May and plans to teach secondary social science and be a high school coach. #JewellDoesJourneyGrants
