⚠️ LAKEWOOD, Washington. — Court filings released Friday provide new details about the death of a teenager in Lakewood who police said ran into a swamp and died while fleeing from a stolen Kia last week. The Pierce County Medical Examiner identified the teen as 16-year-old Nicholas Woody II. The teen’s official cause and manner of death are still pending as of Friday. Prosecutors filed charges against two teenagers – ages 14 and 17 – who were allegedly with Woody in the stolen Kia. According to court filings, Lakewood police attempted to stop the stolen Kia on Lakewood Drive Southwest around 10 p.m. on Dec. 2.
