#OnThisDay in 1909, we became #TheBrickyard. On Dec. 10, 1909, the brick-paving job of #IMS is completed 63 days after work began. Even before work was done, locals nicknamed the track The Brickyard. The new surface was dedicated a week later with Indiana Gov. Thomas Marshall.
