The #OpticaFoundation Challenge is enabling research teams to tackle today's emerging technology problems, using smart optical sensors for IoT and realistic holography for AR/VR. Zaijun Chen, uscedu, will use smart optical sensors that can detect and process optical signals without the need for conversion for an efficient solution to growing network demand. Alejandro Velez-Zea, udea, will use the grant to create a system to demonstrate the capabilities of holographic augmented reality.
