1️⃣Behind the crowd
There’s nothing better than a photo or video that really shows the scope of a performance. Getting to the back of a concert hall or festival ground can give you an immense sense of scale, really capturing the essence of an artist’s set and the crowd that accompanies it.
2️⃣In The Photo Pit
The ideal circumstance, but one that many don’t take full advantage of. Don’t stick your lens up an artist’s nostrils. Get some angles! A side angle of an artist reaching over to the crowd, a wide shot that covers the whole band/stage, a close up of a performer (without a microphone in their face). There’s a lot of ground to cover in such a small amount of space.
3️⃣Sidestage or backstage
If you can manage it, these vantage points can give you some really intimate, exclusive angles. Perfomers that have choreographed dances or more interactive sets are ones that are almost made to be captured this way, giving more of a POV fro...
