Fifty-five years ago, the Apollo 8 crew became the first to witness an Earthrise. ⁣ ⁣ On Dec. 24, 1968, astronauts Frank Borman, Jim Lovell, and Bill Anders orbited the Moon in preparation for future landings on the lunar surface.
