What they said. 🙌 🏳️🌈
•
The New Jersey Devils players sported specialty sweaters in support of the organization’s “Hockey is for Everyone” night last Thursday before their game against the Edmonton Oilers. 👏
•
For the occasion, the team collaborated with local designer Kathryn Kennedy to create Pride-themed sweaters for members of the team to wear as they made their way into the arena. 🏒
•
Inspired by traditional collage art, Kennedy worked in an abstract style to craft the crest of the jersey, intended to symbolize “coming out” within the LGBTQIA+ community. 🌈
•
While the National Hockey League has prohibited players from wearing themed jerseys during warm-ups and games, there are no restrictions on them being worn before those designated times. 👀

Sometimes you just have to think a bit outside the box. 🤩 #thegist
