Short story: we'll be taking our yearly New Year's walk through the beautiful Bonaventure Cemetery. It sounds morbid, but it's truly one of the most beautiful places in Savannah. Long story: New Year's Eve has always been a weird time for me. In high school and college, I always worked it (that's what happens when your family owns Chinese restaurants 😂). As an adult, I was content to stay home with my dogs and read a good book. However, on New Year's Eve of 2019, my Saoirse passed away unexpectedly at just 3.5 years old. As a result, staying home on the day is hard for me - I'm an overthinker and will sit there thinking about what I could have done differently that day. So for the past few years, I've made it a point to take Sully out for a walk in a beautiful spot - Bonaventure Cemetery, Wormsloe, or Skidaway Island. Life is short, so why not make the best of it?
