The magic in Loreto Bay National Park begins with church bells ringing during a glorious sunrise. As the ever-present sun streams through the blue pool of ocean life, it’s easy to see why 43 species of marine mammals and 900 species of fish (77 found nowhere else on the planet) make this their home. The five islets that dot the bay—all uninhabited—can also sometimes feel like your own private island.
Back on the shores of Baja California Sur, the nearby town of Loreto also offers its own charms. Stroll through local galleries, shops carrying Talavera pottery, and murals that depict the history of Baja; dine alfresco on Huevos Divorciados (divorced eggs) at Orlando’s and wash it down with a beer from Zopilote Brewing and Co.; and if the ocean isn’t really your thing, head to Pasada de Las Flores Hotel and take a dip in the gorgeous rooftop pool. From sea to land, here’s what to do in and around Loreto Bay National Park. More at our link in bio.
