Last year I entered 2023 with a cast on my ankle, reeling off two surgeries, one in August and the other in December. I kept quiet about the second one because to be honest, I felt ashamed. I had let myself and my team down by not being patient or smart in and outside of the gym. I felt embarrassed and dispirited. I then turned to God & made a promise to myself to make the setback worth it…to create something out of the misfortune & not have it all be for nothing. I entered the year with my personal 4 P’s: Patience, Peace, Power & Prosperity….trusting in patience and finding peace in my new role on the team. Finding my strength and my power in handling tough times and staying positive throughout. And through the power of prayer and constant trust in God that I WAS going to be prosperous in the end of all of this…and sitting here today, being stronger in more ways than I could imagine, training all six, being able to approach gymnastics from a different, more positive angle and an ankle...
