In America, 1.2 million adults identify as Black and LGBTQ+, but for many within that intersectional identity, the layered discrimination of race and sexuality takes its toll. Here at Howard University, efforts to support LGBTQ+ students have resulted in the formation of the Intercultural Affairs and LGBTQ+ Resource Center. In 2022, according to BestCollege.com and the Campus Pride Index Tool, Howard was named the no. 1 most inclusive HBCU for LGBTQ-identifying students.
