Dodgers won the weekend series by beating the Red Sox 7-4 on a beautiful Sunday afternoon at Fenway Park.
Before his first at bat of the game, Mookie received another loud standing ovation from the Fenway faithful. Mookie demonstrated his appreciation with his third cap tip of the series. I’ve seen a lot of players return back to Fenway over the years but I’ve never seen the love and admiration from the crowd like we saw over the weekend for Mookie.
Mookie responded by dominating the series in all facets of the game, as he marches towards potentially another MVP award. In the game, he launched a two-run HR over the monster. The homer was his 35th HR of the season, tying a career high, with a little over a month remaining in the season.
For the Sox, Casas, Turner, and Duvall all went yard, including back-to-back shots in the 8th, but it wasn’t enough.
Sox look to bounce back tonight in a critical 3 game series against the Astros with Sale on the bump.
