On a summer-like night, the redsox took on cardinals in front of the packed house at fenwaypark. alstonpaxton struck out 9 over over 5IP, with his fastball hitting 98mph. Aside from the 2run HR to Arenado in 1st, his Red Sox debut was very impressive! He struck out the side for the first time in his career in the 4th inning. After back-to-back 💣 from enmanuel_2828 and Wong, Paxton was in line for the win until the Cards came back to ultimately win 8-6. Valdez’s HR was special, not only because it gave the Sox the lead, but he hit it with his family in the stands, watching him play in the bigs for the first time. The Sox look to bounce back with Sale on the bump this afternoon. It should be a beautiful day for a game.
