Sox dropped game 1 of the homestand vs Colorado, 4-3, in 10 innings, on another rainy night at Fenway Park. Paxton had another dominant start going 6IP, 0ER, 8Ks, but it wasn’t enough. In the 7th inning, arroyoc22 broke the 1-1 tie when he crushed a solo shot into the monster. The Sox then promptly gave up the lead in the top half of the 8th. In the bottom half of the frame, it looked like the Sox would take the lead with a big fly from Devers, but Jones made a great leaping grab in front of the Sox bullpen, ending the threat. The game went to extras and the sky opened up. During a down pour, the Rockies took a 2 run lead and then the tarp rolled out while the Rockies had the bases loaded. After an hour and a half rain delay, Garza came out of the pen and got the Sox out of the jam, but the Sox could only muster 1 run, and ultimately lost 4-3.
