42 year old Rich Hill dominated the Rays with 11ks in 7 shutout inning, becoming the first Sox pitcher with over 40 with 11ks in a game. He was dealing and was pitching like a guy with dinner reservations as the game was completed in 2 hours and 24 minutes. The Rays never looked comfortable in the box as they repeatedly tried to call timeout to break up Hill’s rhythm. The @redsox jumped out to an early 4-0 lead after big 1st inning hits highlighted by @jdmartinez28 RBI single and @bobbydalbec 2 RBI double. They never looked back after taking the early lead. @kikehndez added to the scoring with his solo shot into the monster in the 4th.
