Congratulations to Grace Cross (harp) for being selected as the winner of the Spring 2021 USO-UWE Virtual Track Mock Audition. The final project for online participants in the University Wind Ensemble and University Symphony Orchestra was to perform a mock audition (via Zoom) on orchestral excerpts for UMN Faculty. Selection was based on preparation of the individual part, artistic awareness of how the individual excerpt works within the full composition, and professionalism. Grace played the opening of the Adagietto from Gustav Mahler's Symphonie no. 5, sections from movements II and III from Igor Stravinsky's Symphony in Three Movements, and the cadenza from Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky's Suite from Swan Lake.
