Veteran well-being and eliminating the disparities associated with students entering the medical field were the focus of a #StanDOM volunteer program during the pandemic. After being accepted into the program, students came onto campus to receive training from Rhonda Hamilton and Katherine Henkels, the project coordinators. Then, they started making calls. "[The veterans] loved speaking to the students," says Hamilton. "We'd get requests for the students to call back."
