#StanfordWIM Denise Fortes was anticipating starting her new position as postdoc coordinator in March 2020 when the pandemic hit, and she was informed she'd be working from home. When there was a hiring freeze shortly after, that didn't stop her from doing all she could to help her team and other divisions. "I will never forget the experience because it has given me the opportunity to be a leader and resource to my peers," says Fortes, adding that knowledge is necessary, especially in an academic institution, and should be shared.
