I was debating making this post since it’s a week after the new year started but I wanted to share this to be transparent about 2023. 💻I’ve been working professionally as a graphic designer for 3 years and I have been posting content here on TikTok and Instagram for 3 and a half years. I finally decided this year to take my dreams seriously and start trying to find clients on my own, rather than sitting back and waiting for someone to say they need design work (this happened occasionally from family and friends). I spent the months from March to September freelancing on the side of my full-time job. I was burnout and knew I was ready to leave my job for months, but the fear of failing and fully jumping into a new lifestyle scared me. Through all of this, I ended up accomplishing a lot this year, while still experiencing clients ghosting me, people telling me I charge too much and questioning my worth and life choices constantly. 🎉But I’m excited for 2024 and what is to come ...
