The United Launch Alliance’s Vulcan Centaur rocket launched on January 8 from Florida’s Cape Canaveral Space Force Station, as the first lunar landing mission from the US since 1972. The robotic lander contains various science instruments, including from NASA, as well as some human remains for space burial.
