Why we decided, last minute, to make a Galapagos dream trip come true 🥹. As some of you know, the last few months of 2023 were filled with heartache. We fought tirelessly alongside Evan’s Dad, as he battled an unexpected and unknown illness. By early November the doctors had given up hope, and we slept in the hospital alongside him until his finale moments 💔. And in those moments we fully grasped life’s fragility 🙏. After, we decided that we needed an escape, and to be in a place where we could reflect, grieve, and cultivate gratitude for all the time we had with him. Tbh Galápagos Islands hadn’t been on our bucket lists— they seemed SO remote, TOO expensive, and just unattainable. But when we searched Google Flights—adding dates for the following month, and selecting ‘Anywhere’ as the destination— up popped Ecuador. Surprisingly inexpensive over the holidays 🇪🇨.
