So… did Elvis curse Downtown Jacksonville then? 🤔😅 If so, it’s definitely been lifted over the past few years - & after talking to the floridatheatre & their plans for development leading up to their 100 year anniversary (2027) is proof! The theatre is the last surviving one - because back in the 40s/50s, it was just one of MANY that ran up and down Forsyth / Bay, etc. Downtown was filled with people on a regular - & I highly suggest a google (I was shook!). Amongst the 150 shows throughout the year, one of my absolute favorites is coming back Thursday (November 3) : Untold Stories! Think of a TedX talk, but with each story having Jacksonville be the piece that ties all the speakers together.
