This week, as we are planning and gearing up to start working towards our 2024 goals, we are also reflecting on our key accomplishments from 2023, starting with our clean water initiatives! Last year was pivotal for our well drilling program, as we pushed to create greater sustainability for wells in our partner communities, challenged ourselves to construct wells in more difficult environments, and even built an entire water distribution system at a secondary school! Overall we closed the year with 12 new deep-water wells, impacting over 6,305 people with improved health, more livelihood opportunities, and a newfound sense of harmony within communities and families. Our wells especially empower women and girls who are primarily responsible for water collection in rural communities in Africa, and who typically spend hours each day walking long distances to source water that is still unhealthy to drink.
