I think it’s super important to know what each pitcher feels comfortable throwing in every situation. Asking each pitcher their preferences lets them know you’re listening and you’re in their corner. It allows you to grow a connection full of trust so that when the time comes that you need them to throw that pitch they are reluctant about they know that you believe in them and that’s all they need to believe in it themselves.
