Book review: Computational Simulation in Nanophotonics and Spectroscopy Mengtao Sun and Xijiao Mu | Review by Christian Brosseau This book covers a large amount of ground for the analysis of computational simulation problems in nanophotonics and spectroscopy. On the one hand, it aims to describe comprehensively semi-empirical and density functional theory techniques of quantum mechanics and quantum chemistry to simulate and analyze electron transition and Raman spectra. On the other hand, classical electromagnetic field theory is used to perform finite element calculations of the optical properties of solids. Although the book’s length is short, it allows ample room to provide clearly written script programs that can be useful to readers. This book targets graduate students, postdocs and faculty who are interested in acquiring the broad background knowledge needed to become successful researchers in this area. #Computational #Simulation #Nanophotonics #Spectroscopy
