Katie Bouton ‘96 came from a small town in western New York. Her world seemed to revolve around the family’s kitchen table, which always seemed to have room to welcome another person and their stories. When she arrived for her first year at UNH, she was looking for something new— new experiences, new perspectives, new stories. Within weeks, she was exposed to those new worlds. She wrote for the school newspaper, marched for climate, women’s and, LGBTQ representation, and spent a semester abroad. Through these new experiences, making room for other voices and views became even more important to her.
During All Hail 2023, Bouton shared her story and how her time at UNH continues to inspire her. Read her story at the link in stories and find some inspiration for giving back and making more room at your table in 2024.
