8 plaintiffs from the Dutch-Caribbean island Bonaire and Greenpeace Netherlands take the Dutch State to Court for the lack of protection and climate action. The Dutch State must protect all its citizens and amp up climate action!⁣ ⁣ Today, people from the Dutch climate movement and Caribbean communities in the Netherlands marched from the government to the Court in the Hague to demand climate justice. They did so, because the State has failed to act on their demands and they want the Court to compel the State to act.⁣ ⁣ Scientific consensus shows that the climate crisis is already affecting the human rights of people in the Caribbean and every additional increment of global warming will have a severe impact on people’s lives, houses, jobs and health.
