My first time working with Saban was a Bama spring game and I was terrified. But somewhere along the way that fear turned into respect. I always wanted to be great when I was working with Saban because I know that’s what he expected of everyone around him.
I’ve interviewed him several times, driven him around campus, played horse with him (sad to say he won🤦🏾♀️), been fussed at on national television by him, but my favorite moment was being asked to speak to the team and seeing him sit front and center setting the example for his entire squad. The bottom line is Nick Saban made me better, he made hundreds of young men better, and he made college football better. That’s all I have to say about his retirement…SO QUIT ASKIN!!
