While softball is a sport dominated by speed and power, you canโt completely ignore the accumulation of fatigue the athlete faces in the late innings of a single game, the second half of a double header, or the latter games of a weekend series.ย Developing a solid base of endurance will allow the athlete to display high levels of speed and power while delaying fatigue in these late game situations.ย Dedicating one to two days of conditioning in the off-season and pre-season is plenty to develop softball-specific endurance without negatively interfering with softball skills or speed/power development.ย
