You’d be forgiven for mistaking the Vista House this weekend for Elsa’s ice palace from “Frozen.”
Following a punishing winter storm that tore through the region, the historic landmark was coated in a thick layer of ice atop Crown Point in the Columbia River Gorge, adding yet another dramatic scene to a week that has been full of them.
Al Russell, who lives in nearby Cascade Locks, captured photos of the Vista House on Sunday afternoon as he and a friend helped deliver food to his girlfriend’s father, who lives in the area and was trapped at home by the ice.
