City History Series pt. 2: seahawks For this design I wanted to honor Native American tribes in the Pacific Northwest. This design is inspired by #jeffreyveregge, an award-winning Native American artist from the Port Gamble S’Kallam Tribe in the Kitsap Peninsula of Washington. Another ode to PNW Native Americans is “Sgwigwi” a Lushootseed word meaning “invite” and the original term for “potlatch,” as a reminder of who this land belonged to before us, and to give those who come to it now with the same invitation.
