Representatives from the Columbia Ceasefire Coalition presented a proclamation calling for the city of Columbia to recognize the importance of a ceasefire in Gaza during the Jan. 16 Columbia city council meeting. The proclamation, signed by Columbia Mayor Barbara Buffaloe, would not invoke legal action, but would instead serve as a declaration of the feelings of community members. Over 100 coalition and community members stood to show their support for the proclamation during the meeting.
