Are you excited for the long weekend? Let's kickstart it with some motivation! I've a video that showcases the progress of a horse from its first ride to the last one before it was picked up. In training, I emphasise that training is not a one-time thing but rather a continuous process of revisiting, polishing, and making daily small changes. This is especially true for older horses. In the video, you can clearly see the mental as well as the physical work that goes into training horses. All three gaiters are visibly different, with some showing clarity while others showing choppiness. The canter is incredibly challenging for this horse, as it requires a soft and flexible back that allows them to lift and rise in the front, the activation of the thoracic sling, wither lift, and a soft poll.
