Welcome to the Westman Islands 🇮🇸 📍 Vestmannaeyjar (Western Islands) is located off Iceland’s southern coast and was formed from underwater volcanic eruptions. During the fall of 2018, I spent a couple days exploring Heimaey, the largest and only inhabited island with roughly 4,000 residents. This beautifully unique landscape was one of the windiest places I’ve ever visited and had the funniest long-haired sheep I’ve ever seen! The views here are incredible… I especially love the contrast of black lava rocks and lush grassy areas. Which image is your favorite?
