Kindergarten and third grade buddies ‘Mixed It Up’ on Friday with fun activities inspired by The Circles All Around Us by Brad Montague. Illustrating their interests and likes on colorful hearts, students shared one-on-one with their buddy to discover ways they are similar and unique.

Next, students joined hands to grow their circles wider. With lots of giggles, cheers, and teamwork, they worked to move hula hoops around the circle without breaking their bonds. Closing the program, students enjoyed a sweet treat before bidding their buddies farewell.

This year’s “Aspire to Be Interconnected” theme celebrates interconnectedness as the cornerstone of a thriving community. Lower School is loving the monthly activities planned by faculty through cross-grade collaboration. Each activity presents an opportunity for students to grow their circles, deepen their understanding of self and others (beyond homeroom), and strengthen the feeling of comfort and belonging at school.
