New Rochelle made a loud, “We’re back” statement Jan. 27 at The Armory. The team, which finished third last spring out of 28 teams at the Westchester County outdoor track and field championships and was third out of 24 last winter at the Westchester indoor championships, captured the county indoor title, amassing 98 points with strong finishes in an array of events. New Rochelle, which won the girls 55 dash and 4x200 and 4x400 relays and had top-three finishes in shot put, the racewalk, hurdles, long jump, 600-meter and 1,000-meter runs, trailed smaller but always-strong Ursuline at one point in the meet before pulling ahead for a 35-point win over the Koalas.
