Multiple sclerosis is a complex disorder, triggered by the immune system, that attacks the protective sheath surrounding nerve fibers. These fibers, known as myelin, are mistaken by the person’s own immune system as something foreign. Symptoms include fatigue, loss of coordination, pain, and memory or vision loss.
