"My first year of college coincided with my official diagnosis of chronic migraine. It was challenging to manage my health on top of school, and I desperately needed a community and an outlet beyond medication to deal with my pain.
I became curious about art therapy and decided to pursue it through the University Honors Program at the University of Cincinnati. As a member, I was required to complete a series of five honors experiences, so I decided to self-design one. Through my honors experience "The Art of Healing", I sought to make my invisible experiences visible, including my journey with chronic migraine, as well as improve my communication and connection with my community.
As part of my experience, I created three paintings, each telling a different story from my life. I shared one of these pieces with Miles for Migraine as part of their Dear Migraine book project.
