During winter break, a fire occurred in Earl Hall due to an electric skateboard left plugged in and not visible during safety checks. In response, University Housing reminded students via email of the existing electric transportation policies that prohibit charging and storing electric devices indoors on university property. In response, UO Transportation is exploring the possibility of participating in another e-scooter pilot program and working with campus partners to identify secure locations for storing and charging electric devices.
