I needed a few days and I’m still having trouble putting my feelings into words. I’ve never left this city, so this goodbye is a hard one for me.
I’m so grateful for the chicagoredstars taking a chance on a local kid back in 2016. I’ve always felt my journey and who I am is one that represents this city. From getting pregnant at 20 years old all while in college at DePaul… to getting drafted but hardly ever seeing the field for the first couple years and really going through it mentally. There were so many moments and times that I don’t think anyone would have blamed me for quitting. But being a Chicago girl, I have that fighting spirit. We don’t quit.
Anyway, I’m so grateful for the opportunities I’ve been given. I am so grateful for how my teammates have helped me grow and more importantly how they’ve embraced my son. And I’m so beyond grateful to have played for the most amazing supporters group.
I think it goes without saying that I will bring that fighting Chicago spirit to LA....
