This incredible image of Our Lady standing tall surrounded by fallen trees was shared on Aug. 30 by St. Hubert Catholic Church in Garyville, Louisiana, a small town along the banks of the Mississippi River 40 miles west of New Orleans. (Swipe to see the full image!) A reflection of the statue of Our Lady of Grace, as seen on the Miraculous Medal given to St. Catherine Labouré, shimmers in rippling floodwater. Like many communities in South Louisiana, Garyville was battered by Hurricane Ida, a category 4 storm that brought torrential rain and 150 mph winds, was one of the strong storms to hit the Gulf Coast. Roofs were decimated, with buildings and infrastructure toppled, leaving more than 1 million people into the dark for days.
