Last summer, we told you about the Texas-based travel center, Buc-ee's, coming to Rockingham County. On Tuesday, Buc-ee’s co-founder and CEO Arch “Beaver” Aplin III and Gov. Glenn Youngkin attended the ceremonial groundbreaking.
The center will be located at the intersection of Friedens Church Road and I-81. This establishment will have a total area of 74,000 square feet and offer a variety of take-out food choices. Additionally, it will feature 120 fuel stations and 24 stations for charging electric vehicles.
The Rockingham County center, bought for $6.6 million, is one of four locations Buc-ee's plans to open in Virginia.
