Can you believe a new season of farming is already underway at our community farm in Burkina Faso? AND the only reason this is possible is because of the year-round irrigation catchment system the farmers now have access to. 💧 News of last season's successful harvest and the new solar-powered irrigation system has spread around the community of Komsnedego, and new farmers are signing up to join the community farm every day to realize the economic opportunity that's now available. 💦 Each farmer receives their own individual plot of land, and the power is in their hands - with support from our full-time Agricultural Coordinator - to grow, harvest, earn and save! 🌾 Especially for women farmers, this is revolutionary, as it is typically not easy for them to acquire land and earn an income on their own. 👩🏾‍🌾 We are thrilled to witness all the new action and activity, and especially the abundant WATER being used to irrigate all the farm plots.
