Meet Jorge Barillas - a Third Cook at Corcoran Commons! Jorge has worked at BC Dining for over 25 years, starting as a part-time employee and working his way up to a culinary position! He began his career by working as a temporary employee at Corcoran Commons, where he stayed for 6 years. Then, he moved to Stuart for 12 years and ultimately returned to Corcoran. Jorge’s love for cooking runs deep, tracing back to his early memories of cooking with his grandmother in El Salvador. “I learned to cook from my grandmother,” he said. “Growing up so close to her, she taught me how to cook local recipes and inspired me to cook as well.” On a typical day, Jorge can be found crafting student-favorite recipes and running each station at our campus’ largest dining hall.
