🚑 How much do FDNY EMTs make? workersclubnyc FDNY EMTs start out at $39,400 per year, and after five years, your base salary goes up to $59,500. FDNY says that with fringe pay, you could be making up to $76,400 and make additional overtime as well. Sadly, FDNY EMTs are one of the lowest paid uniformed unions in the city. They are also one of the two uniformed unions in New York City that have yet to negotiate a new contract. There are rumors that a new contract will come out in the next few months. FDNY EMTs do have some pretty good benefits, with the primary one being after you’ve served for 18 months, you’ll be eligible to take the paramedic exam where FDNY will pay for your paramedic training for nine months, as long as you become a paramedic in FDNY for three years. Other MTA benefits include 12 sick days, standard PTO days, as well as a pension plan that fully vests after 25 years. #emt #emtlife #emts #fdny #salary #salarytransparency #pay #paramedic #firstresponders
