On this National Girls and Women in Sports Day my wish is for every one to understand that talking about it isn’t enough. 𝐘𝐨𝐮 𝐜𝐚𝐧𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐭𝐚𝐥𝐤 𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐠𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐰𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐧 𝐢𝐧 𝐬𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐬 𝐰𝐡𝐞𝐧 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐝𝐨𝐧’𝐭 𝐀𝐃𝐕𝐎𝐂𝐀𝐓𝐄 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐢𝐧𝐜𝐥𝐮𝐬𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐨𝐟 𝐰𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐧 𝐢𝐧 𝐬𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐬. Read that again. From a media perspective, and I imagine it’s similar for those in leadership, coaching, etc., it’s disappointing to see the lack of female creatives getting opportunities that men do. In the past six months I’ve seen a variety of team photos for big events and a majority have been men creatives. Look at any sideline on any given day and a majority are men. This is extremely disappointing given the shift of more female creators in the athletic space. Be the change.
